Suidpunt Deep Sea Angling Club is situated at Struisbaai and about 6 Km from the tip of Africa.

The Agulhas Banks, stretching up to 150 N/miles south of Cape Agulhas, produces some of the best fishing in South Africa all year round.

With huge Striped Marlin, Black Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Yellowtail, Garrick, Red Steenbras within range of Struisbaai Harbour we naturally also host some very popular Angling Competitions.

Our club strives to promote the Sport of Deep Sea fishing, develop young anglers, and conserve our ocean.

RED STEENBRAS

The Red steenbras debate continues, with a lot of uncertainty inbetween, further misconcepted because of e-mails circulated that the species is now on the prohibited list!

This is not the case.

The process of implementation of such a law is still underway, and will only be LAW once it is published in the Goverment Gazette.

Red Steenbras may therefore still be caught by anglers with valid angling permits, and the Bag limit is still one fish per angler.
