Chokka on the Blougans
By the last count, we saw up to 23 Chokka Commercial vessels on the Blougansie in the last two weeks.

By the looks of it, the guys are making hay while the sun shines! A concern is that our so far untapped
recource has become a hotspot for commercial harvesting of Squid. Of greater concern is the fact that this full
scale harvesting is depleting a vital food source for pelagic fish species like Yellowtail, Tuna and Marlin. Only
time will tell what the impact really was during the next summer season.
