Launching at Struisbaai
The main launch ramp at the harbour is heavily laden
with sand, and can be quite treacherous with heavier boats.
The launch ramp in front of the wash/hawker bays is the best
option, and not too difficult to launch at, except that the
ramp ends abruptly with a drop-off, and drivers should avoid
their backwheels (towcar) from going over it.
The ramp on the south end of the harbour is best suited
for small craft, like Jetski's and Rubber Ducks (5m), but
mostly blockaded by Chukkies and "Roei bakkies". It's also very
steep and slippery.
Please drive completely away from the ramp area once you
have excited the water with your vessel. Do final
tie-down outside the harbour, to avoid traffic jams
and a tongue lash from other boaters, especially
in summer time! Also
