Struisbaai Slipway

Concerned members of Suidpunt got together at the harbour on 5 September 2009 to investigate and propose a solution to improve the launch site in front of the wash bays.  Numerous complaints about the facilities in the harbour area were previously discussed with MCM personnel, but to date nothing happened about the poor launching sites.   

The decision taken was to manufacture 20 x 3.600 mm concrete, steel reinforced sleepers and increase the slipway by 2 metres.  The concrete sleepers will be joint together to prevent it from moving.  Hopefully this will make the launch and loading of boats more safe for man and machinery.
