Two Oceans Marlin Tournament

Another successful Marlin Tournament hosted by Suidpunt

Once again, 12 Mile banks at Cape Agulhas proved to be a prime Marlin hunting area. Over a period of 3 fishing days, more than 20 Marlin were hooked and dropped, and three Striped Marlin released by very happy crews.

Prizes were awarded to almost all anglers on the last day of the tournament and everyone agreed that this tournament is becoming one of the top Billfish events on the South African calendar.

1st: "Met Eish" (Steven Griffiths and Derek Kaplan)

2nd: "Mystique" (Harold Turner and Gerhard Rupert)

3rd: "Huck Finn" (Marion Williams and Gary Williams)

Biggest Skipper, Smallest boat: Johan Naude - "Scolla"

TWO OCEANS MARLIN TOURNAMENT – 1st INVITATION – 4TH EVENT 

The 2010 Marlin Tournament will be hosted by Struisbaai Deep Sea Angling Club from 10/02/2010 – 13/02/2010.This tournament remains a private competition , with the emphasis on release. The marlin have always been concentrated in the vicinity of the 12 mile Bank in a relatively small area, hence the restriction to 35 boats. Preference will be given to those who have fished in the previous three tournaments. These participants are requested to confirm their participation with Johan van der Walt at hengel@suidpunt.com and pay their entry fees by no later than 4th December 2009. Failing to let us know by this date will imply non-participation and your invitation will be open to other interested anglers.

ENTRANCE FEE: R750.00 PER BOAT.(This includes the skippers angling fees.)

Crew fees of R350.00 per angler payable by 10/02/2010.
